Finding Their Way

Blind from birth, Pandu Fayre, 6, was living in an orphanage in India when he was adopted by Jason and Lalena Fayre in November 2008. Jason, who is also blind wanted to adopt a blind child for several reasons. "I was given really good training, taught to travel with a cane, to cook, read braille, to do all the things that are normal for a person to do. And I think I wanted to impart some of that to somebody else."

It was important for me to celebrate and honor the fact that he had had six years before and five birthdays that he had never celebrated.{quote} says Lalena. Photo by Matt McClain
